BNP has submitted a list of 529 leaders and activists of the party, arrested by law enforcement, to the Election Commission (EC).
Five of the arrested leaders are nomination aspirants for the upcoming 11th general election.
A team of BNP handed over the list to the commission’s Agargaon office on Wednesday, said BNP chairperson’s media wing member, Sayrul Kabir Khan.
In the letter signed by BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir urged the commission to release the aspirants.
The arrested aspirants are Ibrahim Hossain, nomination hopeful from Bagerhat 4 constituency, Anisuzzaman Khan Babu from Gaibandha 2, Anwarul Haque Royal from Netrokona 2, Sheikh Rabiul Alam from Dhaka 10, and Abu Bakkar Abu from Jessore.
Earlier, BNP submitted two lists of arrested party leaders to the commission.
