Jatiya Party (JaPa) on Sunday collected a nomination paper on behalf of JaPa Chairman Hussain Muhammad Ershad to contest in the upcoming 11th general election from the Rangpur 3 constituency.
Rangpur City Corporation (RpCC) Mayor and JaPa Rangpur unit President Mustafizur Rahman Mostafa collected Ershad’s nomination paper from Returning Officer and Rangpur Deputy Commissioner Enamul Habib.
Mustafa said: “The nomination paper for the Rangpur 3 constituency was collected for our party's chief Ershad and the election campaign will start shortly. Ershad expressed his hope that he would win by a huge margin.”
Returning Officer Enamul Habib said: “So far, till Sunday, 17 candidates have collected nomination papers. They include Islami Andolan Bangladesh, Jatiya Party, Zaker Party and independent candidates.”
Jatiya Party leaders including JaPa Rangpur unit General Secretary SM Yasser were present during the collection of the nomination paper.
