Bikalpa Dhara to start selling nomination papers from Nov 12

Bikalpa Dhara Bangladesh will start distributing their nomination papersamong the aspirants for the upcoming general pollsfrom Monday, November 12.

The forms will be distributed from 10 am-5 pm and can be collected from the Bikalpa Dhara electoral office in Badda. The last date for collecting the forms is Wednesday, November 14, according to Bikalpa Dhara Office Secretary Wasimul Islam.

Nomination papers will be sold at Tk1,000, and Tk20,000 has to be paid during submission.

Nomination seekers will be interviewed from 10am -5 pm on November 15 and 16.

All activities will continue as usual at the Bikalpa Dhara electoral office in Badda. 

Jukto Front calls for ensuring level playing field

Jukto Front Chairman and Bikalpa Dhara President AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury on Saturday called for creating a level playing field for the forthcoming 11th parliamentary election and to hold the polls in a free and fair manner.

“If the Election Commission (EC) wants, it can ensure all measures to hold a fair election. Jukto Front is joining the election to uphold the constitution and democracy,as well as peace and prosperity,” he said.

Badruddoza made the comments while addressing a rallyfor the expansion of the Jukto Front and the joining of different leaders to Bikalpa Dhara on the premises of Mahanagar Natyamanch,.

Badruddoza said after the announcement of the election schedule, all officials and employees of the republic have come under the Election Commission’s jurisdiction.

Therefore, the ECcan now hold a fair and peaceful election, he added.

At the rally, it was announced that Jukto Front and Bikalpa Dhara will take part in the election under the ‘Kula’ (winnowing platter) symbol.

The parties forming an alliance with Jukto Front include the Dr MA Mukit-led Bangladesh Jatiya Party, Abu Layes Munna-led Bangladesh Sangskritik Muktijote, Sardar Shams Al Mamun-led Gono Sanskritik Dol, Salauddin Salu-led NPP and NDF Alliance, and Bangladesh Sharia Movement.

Apart from these parties, 25 lawyers of the Dhaka Bar and Metrobar have come under the leadership of the Bikalpa Dhara Bangladesh Organizing Secretary Barrister Omar Faruq.
