Sunday's SCC exams shifted to Mar 14

The government has rescheduled two papers of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations and postponed another paper, due to another spell of 72-hour hartal called by the BNP-led alliance.

Sunday's exam will be held from 10am to 1pm on March 14, and the postponed exam scheduled for February 12 will be held from 9am to 12pm on March 13.

The SSC and equivalent examinations scheduled for Tuesday has been postponed. The new date for the exams will be announced later.

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid announced the new schedule in a press conference at his Dhaka residence on Saturday afternoon.

The BNP-led alliance has been observing the strike, and protesting the killings, mass arrests, and torture of party activists, and the “restoration of democracy.”

BNP’s Joint Secretary General Salahuddin Ahmed, issuing a press release, declared the new spell of hartal on behalf of Party Chairperson Khaleda Zia on Friday.

This year, around 1.5 million students are taking part in the SSC and equivalent exams.

The government and the guardians of examinees have called upon the BNP and its partners to call a hartal, barring exam days, but that call has never been heeded.
