Rival groups of the ruling Awami Leagues’s student wing at Dhaka University clashed over the resignation of a hall provost yesterday but no one was injured.
According to witness Khadizatul Kobra, the president of Bangladesh Chhatra League’s Fazilatunnesa Mujib Hall unit and her supporters were demonstrating in front of the provost’s office, demanding the resignation of Provost Sabita Rezwana and the reinstatement of suspended house tutor Shima Islam.
A scuffle ensued when their rivals, led by the hall unit’s BCL Secretary General Sheikh Marufa Nabila, protested against the Kobra group’s demands.
However, no one was reported injured in the incident.
