A three-day-long 7th National Science Fair began yesterday in Residential Model School playground in the capital.
Students of different schools with innovative ideas and discoveries attended the fair and displayed their talent.
A participant Kawshik Ray of Oxford International School, Dhaka, showed his digital irrigation equipment at the fair yesterday which impressed everybody.
With this new digital irrigation machine, farmers will not have to go to their field to enquire whether water is needed. A Short Messaging System (SMS) of Mobile operators will alert the farmers if the field needs water.
And for turning on the water motor, the farmers don’t need to go to their field, they can do it from anywhere.
Like Kawshik, many other students showed their inventions at the inaugural day of the three-day-long science fair.
