The High Court has ordered the authorities of Viquarunnisa Noon School and College to fix its board of directors through election within 90 days.
The bench of Justice Quazi Reza-Ul Hoque and Justice Abu Taher Md Saifur Rahman came up with the order yesterday after hearing of a writ petition.
The court sought a report over the implementation of the order by March 11.
The education secretary, chairman and college inspector of Dhaka Education Board, deputy commissioner, principal of the school and college and chairman of the adhoc committee of its board of directors were asked to submit the report.
The court also issued a rule as to why the adhoc committee of the board of directors should not be declared illegal. The respondents will have to answer to the rule within four weeks.
On December 7, Supreme Court lawyer Eunus Ali Akond filed the writ petition seeking directives to hold the regular polls of the board of directors of Viqarunnisa Nun School and College.
