The National University (NU) authority has started providing online registration cards with photo and digital signature for the students of its affiliated colleges and other educational institutes.
NU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Harun-ur-Rashid inaugurated the programme on Monday on the campus in Gazipur.
The VC said the authority has taken steps to restructure the university by decentralisation and convert it to an IT (Information Technology)-based university.
“It is an important addition of the university to provide online registration cards,” he added.
Hoping for a positive impact of the system the VC said National University is the first of its kind that started providing online registration cards with photo and digital signature.
Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Mohammad Aslam Bhuiyan (Administration), Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Munaj Ahmed Nur (Academy), director of Information and Technology (ICT) division Mohammed Mominul Islam, teachers and officers were present, among others, at the inaugural programme.
