A case has been lodged with Hathazari police station in the Saturday's gunfight that took place between two groups of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) activists at Shah Jalal Hall over establishing supremacy on campus.
Farhad Hossain, a third year student of Islamic Studies department and also a BCL activist, filed the case on Sunday night against 43 people,
including 23 BCL men named while the rest unknown, said Hathazari police station OC (investigation) Md Sala Uddin.
The accused include the unit's former BCL joint secretary Sumon Mamun, former human resources affairs secretary SM Allauddin and Chhatra Shibir President Asikullah.
Police were looking into the matter, the OC also stated.
Campus sources said Farhad is a follower of shuttle train based BCL faction Varsity Express (VX), of which three activists sustained bullet injuries in the gunfight.
Both factions are loyal to Chittagong City unit Awami League (AL) president ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury, the sources continued. P olice said they were trying to arrest the accused.
