Dhaka University of Engineering and Technology (DUET) celebrated its 11th anniversary in Gazipur yesterday with various programmes.
IT was held with a colourful procession, a rally and a discussion-meeting which kept students, teachers and staff in vibrant mood.
The day started with the Vice Chancellor (VC) of the University professor Dr Alauddin inaugurated the programme by setting free pigeons and colourful balloons in the sky and hoisting the national flag.
Then, a colourful rally was brought out at the university campus which was participated by students, teachers and employees of the University.
A discussion-meeting was held at Ahsan Ullah at Master Auditorium in the university campus.
Director of Student Welfare Prof Dr Ganesh Chandra Shaha presided over the meeting while Liberation war affairs minister AKM Mozammel Haque was the chief guest.
VC prof Dr Alauddin, president of DUET teachers association professor Dr Mohammed Asaduzzaman, Dean of Faculties, Department Heads, Directors, Registrar and students were present at the meeting.
The final treat for the day was a cultural performance, performed by the students of the university.
