DU to add 253 seats this year

Dhaka University (DU) Vice Chancellor Prof AAMS Arefin Siddique declared that the university would increase 253 more seats for the 2017-18 academic session through the first year Honours admission examination. He made the comment while inaugurating the online admission process for the next academic year at the university's administrative building on Monday. "There is no change in eligibility for admission-seekers. Some departments will start honours courses this year. Hence, the seats are increased," he said. The departments of Japanese Studies, and Printing and Publications, consisting 30 seats each, are among the departments, he confirmed.In the upcoming academic session, students will be admitted against 7,053 seats, while 6,800 students were enrolled in the last one. Students who passed their HSC exams this year and will fulfil other requirements will be allowed to take the admission tests. The requirements are mentioned on the university website. The applicants will have to pay Tk350, including a bank and online service charge, for each unit through Sonali, Agrani, Janata or Rupali banks across the country.The online admission form can be filled out from 10pm on August 29, and test fees can be paid till the next day. Admit cards for C and E-units will be available online from 3pm on August 30 to 9am of the exam day, an hour before the test starts. Admit cards of A, B and C units can be downloaded from 3pm on September 12.
