3 RU teachers face allegation of tampering result

A female student of Fine Arts Department of Rajshahi University has brought the allegation of tampering result against three teaches.

Nargis Parvin, who appeared in the masters examination in 2010, brought the allegation against her teachers at a press conference at the central cafeteria of the university at 1:00pm on Saturday.

The accused teachers are the then exam committee chairman Professor Shusanta Kumar Adhikari, committee members Humayun Kabir and Nazneen Akter.

Nargis alleged that Professor Shusanta along with two other exam committee members Humayun Kabir and Nazneen Akter tampered her result intentionally in order to deprive her from getting first class marks.

Nargis said: “The exam committee chairman Shusanta, who himself was also a course teacher of oriental art, did not submit the tutorial mark of his course to the exam controller office before making the tabulation sheets.”

The results of the examination was published on December 11, 2013. However, Shusanta sent the copy of tutorial marks on December 17, 2013.

While contacted, Professor Shusanta Kumar Adhikary told Dhaka Tribune that he did not sent the marks as it was not necessary to send it to the controller office according to university ordinance.

“We just send the marks of theory exams, not practical or tutorial marks,” he added.

Nargis also filed a writ petition with the High Court seeking reevaluation of her exam papers on March 19, 2014.

Responding to her petition, the HC asked the authority concerned to submit explanations.
