The Syndicate of National University (NU) has approved Tk143.68 crore budget for the fiscal year 2014-15 on Saturday.
The 16th senate session presided over by NU's Vice-Chancellor Dr Harun-ar-Rashid approved the budget.
The budget will be allocated for implementing various development programmes, including introduction of in-campus course, re-initiation of the Liberation War, Bangabandhu and Bangladesh Research Institute, introduction of online admission test under self-arrangements, formulation of Master plan of the National University Campus, creation of GIS map of affiliate colleges, modernisation of Teaching Aid (digital model of the lectures), e-Library, introduction of MPhil and PhD programs.
Among others, NU Pro-VC Aslam Bhuiya, Treasurer Professor Noman ur Rashid, Abdul Kuddus MP, Principal Kazi Faruk Uddin, cultural eminents Muntasir Mamum and Ramendu Mazumder were present during the senate session.
