The results of this year’s Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations will be published on October 31, two days later than the previously announced date.
The Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee had earlier set October 29 for the publication of the results. The date was revised due to a change in the venue for the official result announcement.
Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee Chairman and Dhaka Education Board Chairman Professor Syed Akhtaruzzaman confirmed the decision on Tuesday.
He told Dhaka Tribune that the venue was changed following complaints from journalists about inadequate space at the Secretariat during last year’s result publication ceremony.
“Last year, journalists complained about the lack of space at the Secretariat on the day the results were published. We informed the education minister, who considered the matter and agreed to change the venue. Accordingly, the results will be formally published at the International Mother Language Institute on Saturday,” he said.
Earlier, the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee had proposed publishing the results between October 25 and 29. Based on the proposal, October 29 was initially fixed as the publication date.
The HSC and equivalent examinations under nine general education boards, the Bangladesh Technical Education Board and the Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board began across the country on July 2.
The exams were scheduled to end on August 8, but examinations under several boards, including the Chittagong Education Board, took longer to complete due to flooding.
A total of 12,70,583 candidates appeared for the HSC, Alim, HSC (BM-BMT), HSC (Vocational) and Diploma-in-Commerce examinations under 11 education boards. The exams were held at 2,697 centres involving 9,439 institutions.
This year, the nine general education boards conducted the examinations using common question papers.
The 2026 HSC and equivalent examinations began on July 2 and ended on August 8, while the practical examinations were completed by August 15.
