The second phase of applications for admission to Class XI for the 2026–27 academic year will open on September 27 and continue until 8:00pm on September 28.
The selection results will be published on October 1, according to a notice issued by the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee on Monday.
Selected students will have until 8:00pm on October 3 to confirm their admission. Those who fail to confirm their selection within the deadline will have their selection and application cancelled.
The results of the second migration, based on students’ preferences, will be published on October 4. Admission for students selected in the second phase will be held at colleges and madrasas from October 5 to 7.
Students who did not apply in the first phase, were not selected by any institution, failed to confirm their selection, could not complete admission within the deadline, or were unable to enrol due to an incorrect quota designation will be eligible to apply in the second phase.
As in the first phase, applicants must select at least five and no more than 10 colleges or madrasas.
Meanwhile, admission under the first phase is currently underway and will continue until Tuesday. Classes for newly admitted Class XI students are scheduled to begin on September 24.
A total of 853,441 students were finally selected for Class XI admission in the first phase. This year, colleges and madrasas have 2,601,779 seats, meaning only around 33% of the available seats were filled in the first phase, leaving nearly 67% vacant.
A large number of seats are expected to remain vacant after the second phase as well. This year, 1,829,485 students sat for examinations under 11 education boards, including the Technical Education Board, with more than 1.144 million passing.
However, the admission process mentioned above applies only to colleges and madrasas. Admission under the Bangladesh Technical Education Board is being conducted separately.
