Students who could not sit for the Physics, Accounting and Logic examinations on July 13 due to floods will be allowed to take the tests again after registration, Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon said on Thursday.
The minister said the examinations held on July 13 will be rescheduled, but only those students who were absent on that day will be eligible to participate.
Speaking to reporters on Thursday afternoon, he said there would be no opportunity for students who already appeared in the examinations but want to retake them due to poor performance.
“No, no. That is not possible. Those who have already taken the exams will not have to sit again,” the minister said.
He added that marks would be awarded to all students for questions that contained errors, leaving no further scope for complaints.
The HSC and equivalent examinations were held on July 13 in 59 districts across the country, excluding five districts of Chittagong. The decision to hold the exams amid heavy rainfall and waterlogging sparked widespread dissatisfaction among examinees.
On July 14, students staged protests across the country demanding a reconsideration of the examination schedule.
