Govt orders daily PT, sports activities at madrasas

The Directorate of Madrasa Education has directed all madrasas under its jurisdiction to ensure daily physical training (PT) assemblies and regular sports activities to promote students' physical fitness and active participation.

The directive was issued through an office order on Monday.

According to the order, the government is committed to expanding sports at the grassroots level and in educational institutions as part of its broader efforts to build a healthy, disciplined and vibrant young generation.

Assistant teachers of physical education have been tasked with organising daily PT assemblies and sports activities and ensuring the enthusiastic participation of students.

The order further said that madrasas without an assistant teacher of physical education should temporarily assign the responsibility to a qualified teacher with experience in sports. Heads of institutions have also been asked to take necessary steps, in accordance with the rules, to fill the vacant posts.
