Education Minister Dr A N M Ehsanul Hoque Milon on Friday said the government wants to impart quality education to student through establishing quality educational institutions.
"We want to provide quality education to student and build quality educational institutions. Our main responsibility is to improve the quality of learning. In view of this we are implementing many activities in the education sector to achieve that goal," he said.
The minister made the remark while addressing, as the chief guest an exchange of views meeting with centre secretaries under the Dinajpur Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, the Madrasah Education Board and the Technical Education Board from eight districts of Rangpur Division ahead of the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations, scheduled to begin on July 2, 2026.
The meeting was held at the Dinajpur District Shilpakala Academy auditorium on Friday.
The education minister said legal action would be taken against the head of an educational institution or the centre secretary if any incident of cheating is detected at HSC or equivalent examination centres.
He directed that CCTV cameras must be installed at every examination centre and that centre secretaries to monitor the examinations through the cameras.
Immediate action should be taken if any irregularity or inconsistency is detected through CCTV monitoring, he added.
Addressing the teachers, Milon observed that children of a teacher must pursue study in the institution where the teacher teaches. Otherwise a teacher should not come to the teaching profession.
He said every teacher should regard every student of his or her institution as their own child, adding that only then progress could be achieved in education.
The minister called upon teachers of all educational institutions to work sincerely to advance the education system and remain attentive to students' learning.
The meeting was chaired by Chairman of the Dinajpur education board Professor Mohammad Ilias Ahmed.
Among others, Chairman of the Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board Professor Khondkar Mohammad Sadekur Rahman, Chairman of the Technical Education Board Engineer Ruhul Amin, Secretary of the Dinajpur Education Board Professor Nur Mohammad Abdur Razzaq and Controller of Examinations Professor Borhan Uddin were present.
