Dhaka University hosted a mapping workshop, “MapUp,” on October 4, 2013 at the Department of MIS in the university’s premises. The event was organised by Mapping Bangladesh Community.
Google Country Consultant (Bangladesh) Kazi Monirul Kabir was present at the event as chief guest while Altaf Uz Zaman, Country Advocate of Google MapMaker, was the special guest.
Faculty members from Department of MIS, DU and Google MapMaker Regional Expert Reviewers were also present on the occasion. Under the direction of Masum Ikbal, a group of 30 mappers mapped important places of DU and the rest of the country on Google Maps.
Qubee supported the event with WiFi connectivity, and the event was telecast live on YouTube.
