The number of students to secure the highest grade point average, GPA-5, in this year’s Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations has dropped significantly compared to the previous year, according to results published on Thursday.
This year, a total of 139,032 students achieved GPA-5, a notable decline from 182,129 students in 2024 — marking a decrease of over 43,000.
Alongside the fall in GPA-5 numbers, the overall pass rate has also dropped to 68.45%, down from last year’s 83.03%.
The education boards released the results separately, as no official announcement event was arranged this year.
