Classes for first-year undergraduate (honours) and BBA students at Jagannath University (JnU) will begin on October 20, with the administration declaring a zero-tolerance policy against ragging.
Prof Dr Muhammad Tazammol Hoque, the proctor of the university, on Friday announced zero tolerance against ragging on Facebook.
The Facebook post states that ragging harms the personality of newcomers. Unsatisfactory conditions shortly after leaving a safe family environment can tarnish the promising journey of enlightenment. A zero-tolerance policy is essential to prevent ragging.
In this regard, the proctor said that all teachers will play the role of proctorial body on the University Day.
"We will take immediate action if any complaint is received".
