The classes for the first-year honours courses under the academic session 2023–24 of Jahangirnagar University (JU) will begin on September 30.
The decision was made on Sunday at a meeting of the provost committee with Vice-Chancellor Prof Mohammad Kamrul Ahsan in the chair.
The registrar (acting), provosts of residential halls, wardens, resident teachers, deputy registrar (education), and others were also present at the meeting.
Later, this was informed in a press release from the public relations office of the university.
The meeting decided to allot students to the newly built Bir Protik Taramon Bibi and Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam Hall.
For this purpose, it was decided to provide residential facilities to the students.
In addition, a committee has been formed consisting of the chief engineer and hall provosts of the university to oversee the necessary renovation activities of the residential halls.
At the meeting, it was also decided to redistribute the manpower of the residential halls in proportion to the students.
The graduated students staying in the residential halls were requested to leave the halls immediately.
Earlier, the admission test for the first year of undergraduates (honours) in the academic year 2023-24 (53rd batch) was held on February 22-29, 2024.
