The Dhaka University authorities have suspended all examinations until further notice due to unforeseen circumstances, per an official notice.
This decision follows an earlier announcement on Sunday by public university teachers that they would commence indefinite work abstention starting Monday.
Their demand is for the reinstatement of the previous pension policy rather than the newly introduced Universal Pension Scheme.
An official from the DU Exam Controller's office confirmed that the examinations were suspended in response to the work abstention program initiated by public university teachers.
The notice, signed by Himadri Shekhar Chakraborty, acting exam controller of the university, specifies that exams scheduled for Monday at Curzon Hall and Arts Building centres have been suspended until further notice.
However, exams at affiliated colleges and institutions under DU will proceed as usual.
