The Jahangirnagar University (JU) authorities will pay a minimum of Tk10,000 to each researcher if their research paper is accepted in international journals like Scopus, ISI, and Thomson Reuters.
The amount will be given as the cost of the publication, Registrar Abu Hasan said in an official order on Wednesday.
According to the decision of a special meeting of the university syndicate held on May 23, researchers will be paid a minimum of Tk10,000 if their research articles are indexed in Scopus/ISI/Thomson Reuter's well-known research journals.
Asked about the development, Deputy Registrar of the University Abu Taleb and Deputy Registrar (Law) Md Mahtab-Uz-Zahid told Dhaka Tribune that there is a separate committee for this according to the university's research policy. The published articles will also be sent to the committee for approval.
