Cluster university admission tests begin amid sweltering heatwave

The cluster university admission test for the academic year of 2023-24 in the country's General and Science and Technology (GST) universities started on Saturday.

The exam began at 12pm and ended at 1pm.

The Architecture Practical (Drawing) examination will be held from 3:30pm to 4:30pm.

Meanwhile, the ongoing heatwave has brought significant hardship to both students and their guardians. To further aggravate the heat, traffic congestion has exacerbated their troubles.

Meanwhile, one student who went to Jagannath University (JnU) fell ill due to scorching heat during the admission test. 

The student, Sajid Hasan Alif, could not complete the examination even though he was given extra time. 

He was rushed to a nearby hospital by ambulance as his blood pressure increased.

In this academic session, a total of 305,346 applications have been submitted. 

Of these, 170,599 applications were submitted in the A unit or the Faculty of Science, 94,631 in the B unit or the Faculty of Humanities and 40,116 in the C unit or the Faculty of Business Studies.
