SSC, equivalent exams begin Thursday

The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and its equivalent examinations for 2024 will begin on Thursday.  

The exam routine was published on the website in December last year. The exams will end on March 12.

This year, a total of 2,024,192 examinees will appear in the examinations from 29,735 educational institutions at 3,700 centres.

No mobile phone and electronic devices will be allowed in the examination centres and only the hall secretary will be allowed to use a general phone set without internet connection.

The question code will be announced 25 minutes before the exam begins.

All coaching centres will be closed till March 12 to conduct the examination properly. The decision was taken at a meeting on January 28.

Earlier in August, then-Education Minister Dipu Moni announced that the SSC and equivalent exams of 2024 will be held in February while the HSC and equivalent exams in April.

For the past several years, the authorities concerned had to rearrange the academic calendar due to the Covid-19 pandemic and natural disaster, but it will be fully set from 2024, she said.

The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations began on April 30 in 2023.
