The Primary and Mass Education Minister is hoping the appointment process of 14,858 assistant teachers for primary schools would be completed within this month after which the government will appoint more 7,500 assistant teachers.
Appointment of teachers is expected to end in October.
Primary and Mass Education Minister Afsarul Amin Sunday said the ministry has almost completed the process of appointing teachers to reduce teachers crisis in primary schools.
The circular of appointing 14,858 assistant teachers was published in November, 2012.
A total of 932,523 candidates out of qualified 1,085,860 candidates took part in the written examination, which held on April 12.
The result of written examination was published on June 20. The viva of successful 33,233 candidates was taken until August 4.
Now the education ministry is awaiting the results from all district offices to publish the final result within this month.
Afsarul Amin added that the government has taken initiative to fill up the vacancies of primary teachers for improving the quality of primary education.
The government also going to appoint 7,500 assistant teachers for pre-primary schools within its tenure.
A circular of appointing the assistant teachers was published online for the first time on July 2.
