State University of Bangladesh celebrates World Food Day

World Food Day 2023 was celebrated in collaboration with the Department of Food Engineering and Technology, State University of Bangladesh and Shashi Hospital (Acupuncture).

This year's theme is "Water is life, water is food. Leave no one behind.” A public awareness rally was held with the spontaneous participation of university teachers, officers/employees and students, according to a press release.

Seminars and idea competitions were also organized. 

SUB Vice-Chancellor (Designate) Professor Dr Chowdhury Mofizur Rahman was present as the chief guest at the event. 

The registrar of the university, Brig Gen Md Jamal Hossain (LPR), was present as a special guest.

The seminar was chaired by Dr Muhammad Shafiur Rahman, associate professor and head of the Department of Food Engineering and Technology. 

The keynote speaker of the seminar was Dr Ummy Salma Munni.

The speakers at the seminar said proper and appropriate use of water is very important, because water is life, water is food.

Besides, the result of the idea competition was announced in the said event. In the idea competition, Rafia Islam Nishu won first prize, Fahmida Khanom Ummi won second prize and Md Zuhair Mahtan won the third prize. The winners are all students of the State University of Bangladesh.
