Cyclone Mocha: Sunday's SSC exam under 5 boards postponed

Due to the looming threat of Cyclone Mocha, Sunday's Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examination under five boards have been postponed. 

The five boards are -- Comilla board, Barisal board, Bangladesh Madrasha Education Board and Technical Board.

A press release signed by Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Dhaka Chairman and Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee President Tapan Kumar Sarkar was issued in this regard on Friday.

The date for the exam will be informed later.

The press release also requested the concerned people to take necessary steps in this regard. 

Earlier, a press release was issued on Thursday asking all boards to take cautionary measures and keep safe all examination-related secret goods.

Cyclone ‘Mocha' has intensified into a very severe cyclonic storm over the southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining area, according to a special bulletin by Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Friday.

The cyclonic storm is likely to further intensify in coming hours and it has moved further north-northeastwards, according to the special bulletin issued on 2:30pm. 

The maritime ports of Cox's Bazar, Chittagong and Mongla have been advised to keep hoisted local warning signal no-4 (four).
