All the coaching centres across Bangladesh will remain closed from Wednesday (April 26) to May 23 ahead of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations.
The education minister said this in a press briefing held at the conference room of the International Mother Language Institute in the capital on Tuesday.
The examination will begin on April 30 and continue till May 23, according to the SSC routine.
"A meeting was held today (Tuesday) with all organizations concerned regarding the preparations to hold the examination in a copying-free environment,” said the minister.
Dipu Moni said that the examinations will be held on a short syllabus and the number of candidates is 2,072,163 this year.
She said although the SSC examinations are held in the first week of February every year, it was not possible to hold the exams on time like last year due to Covid-19.
The Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education released the routine for all educational boards in February.
