The Ministry of Education has directed to take action against 10 of the educational institutions that had zero pass rates in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations in 2022.
An order in this regard has been issued from the ministry's Secondary and Higher Education Division on Monday.
The letter said the information of the educational institutes, which had zero pass rate in the SSC examinations in 2022, has been collected from the secondary and higher secondary boards.
Among the institutions, two are from Rajshahi board, five are from Dinajpur board and one each from Jessore, Chittagong and Mymensingh boards.
The ministry has ordered these institutions to send detailed information of students and examinees on an urgent basis along with the SSC results of the last five years.
Besides, the ministry wants to know about the reason for the zero pass rate and the kind of support the students can get to obtain good results
Based on the information, the ministry will either provide the necessary support or take action against the institutions, if negligence is found.
These directives have been given to the principals of the concerned educational institution.
A copy of this letter has also been sent to the director generals of the Bangladesh Bureau of Educational Information and Statistics (BANBEIS), the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education and the chairmen of the concerned secondary and higher secondary education boards.
