A prisoner of Comilla Central Jail who sat for Secondary School Certificate (SSC) from the prison secured GPA-3.61.
Jail sources said that the examinee is Rimon Ahmed, student of Kaduti High School in Comilla's Chandina upazila.
He was sent to jail after he had registered for the SSC exams. After completing all the formalities, the jail authorities sought permission from the controller of examinations for letting him sit for the examination.
Later, his examination was taken with the consent of the controller of examination. A teacher conducted his examinations in the prison.
Senior Jail Superintendent Shahjahan Ahmed said: “After informing us about the exam we made arrangements for him to study.”
Due to restrictions, no comments could be received from Rimon.
