The number of examinations will decrease once the new curriculum is implemented, Education Minister Dipu Moni has said.
Students' fear of exams would wane as a result, the minister said at an event in Dhaka on Saturday.
It would also help move away from test-based assessment, she said, adding that students would be assessed on what they were taught every day.
“There will be limited-scale exams at the end of each year, but final assessments will be made by calibrating the assessments throughout the year,” she added.
The minister also announced that in-person classes on all subjects would be held at secondary and higher secondary levels from March 15.
The government on September 12, 2021 reopened educational institutions after a near two-year closure induced by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The authorities were once again forced to shut down schools and colleges in two phases till February 21 because of a surge in coronavirus cases since the turn of the year 2022.
Later, in-person classes resumed on a limited scale at secondary and higher secondary levels on February 22 and at the primary level on March 2.
