The Federation of Bangladesh University Teachers' Association (FBUTA) has rejected the uniform financial policy and accounting manual issued by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
The ultimatum was given in a statement signed by the president of the organization Prof Dr Md Akhtarul Islam and the secretary general Prof Dr Md Nizamul Haque Bhuiyan on Friday morning.
The organization has given the final ultimatum till July 9.
If this order of UGC is not cancelled, the organization has announced to go on strike in all the public universities of the country simultaneously.
According to the statement, this policy proposed by UGC appears to be ineffective in putting the government and the teaching community in opposite positions just before the next 12th national elections.
