PM Hasina: Girls outshone boys in HSC exams

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina published the results of the Higher Secondary School Certificate and its equivalent exams at noon on Wednesday.

Girls had outperformed boys in the exams, the prime minister said, after being handed the summarized results by Education Minister Dipu Moni, along with the chairmen of all the education boards, at the Prime Minister's Office in Dhaka.

She added that female students had a 2.5% higher pass rate than their male counterparts.

Sheikh Hasina congratulated the students and urged them to do better in the future.  

The education minister will announce the results at a press conference at the International Mother Language Institute at 12:30pm. 

HSC and equivalent exams were held from November 6 to December 13 last year.

A total of 1,203,407 students registered to sit for the exams. Of them, 622,769 were boys and 580,611 were girls.
