SSC exam to be held in August

The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) has decided that this year's SSC examination will be held in August. 

The decision was taken at a meeting of the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee held on Sunday.  

Prof Tapan Kumar Sarkar, chairman of the committee and Dhaka Education Board, said: "Considering the post-flood situation, I have decided to hold SSC exams in August." 

However, the new routine of SSC and equivalent examinations will be published after Eid subject to re-discussion. 

Prof Tapan confirmed that the HSC exam will also be delayed.  

This year's SSC and equivalent examinations were scheduled to start on June 19.  

On April 27, the Inter-Education Board Examination Regulatory Committee announced the schedule for the commencement of examinations from June 19.  

However, considering the flood situation in different districts of the country, the exam was postponed on June 17.
