Prof Meherun Ahmed has joined as the dean of the School of Business & Entrepreneurship (SBE) at
She joined the university on June 21 after serving the Aisan University for Women (AUW) from 2010, said a media statement.
She received both her Ph.D. and M.A. in Economics from the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington, the US.
She completed her Bachelor's and Master's degree in Economics from the University of Dhaka.
Before Joining AUW, she was an assistant professor at Carleton College in Minnesota, the US.
She has worked for many national and international development agencies and think tanks like the World Bank, The International Monetary Fund (IMF), International Organization of Migration (IOM) and Institute of Microfinance.
She has published in reputed journals and presented her research in numerous conferences.
Her research focuses on the microeconomic analysis of household behaviour, with an emphasis on investment in education and health, crisis coping mechanisms, nutrition, poverty, inequality, as well as labour force supply.
