Japan External Trade Organization (Jetro) and the Department of Japanese Studies (DJS) of University of Dhaka, held a webinar on Thursday to understand the needs of Japanese companies operating in Bangladesh and how to develop quality graduates in that regard.
The webinar was also a platform to enable the companies to recruit suitable candidates from the DJS, said a press release.
Dr Abdullah Al Mamun, chairman of the DJS, asked the companies’ representatives to give feedback for the betterment of the students of the department.
Jetro country director and Japan-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industries (JBCCI) President Yuji Ando also spoke during the webinar.
Representatives of about 50 Japanese companies joined the meeting.
JBCCI Secretary General Tareq Rafi Bhuiyan (Jun), along with DJS faculty members Md Jahangir Alam, Dilruba Sharmin, Lopamudra Malek, Nashia Zaman, Shiblee Noman and Md Saifullah Akon were also present at the webinar.
