Pre-primary education to be introduced in every upazila

The government has decided to introduce a two-year pre-primary education program at one government primary school in every upazila of the country.

State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Md Zakir Hossain said a two-year pre-primary education program will be introduced under a pilot project.

He made the remark at an event organized by the Education Reporters Association of Bangladesh at the International Mother Language Institute on Wednesday.

The state minister said: “We have instructed to select one school from each cluster and send the information via email as well as hardcopy to the department by September 15.”

This education system will be introduced in 2,583 government primary schools of the country. 

As the length of the pre-primary education will be two years, children will be admitted to school at the age of four.
