SSC and equivalent exams' results on May 31

The results of this year's Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent exams are scheduled to be published on May 31. 

Mohammad Abul Khair, public relations officer of the Ministry of Education, confirmed the matter in a statement on Thursday. 

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will preside over the publishing of results at 10am on May 31, through videoconference at her official residence, the Ganabhaban. 

A letter from the Prime Minister's Office confirmed it on Thursday, the Education Ministry statement said.

Earlier on May 11, Prof Md Abul Bashar, controller of examinations at the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Dhaka, told Dhaka Tribune that the results of 2020 SSC and equivalent exams were likely to be published in May.

"All education boards across Bangladesh are working in full swing to prepare the results,” he had said, adding that it would be possible despite the Covid-19 crisis.

The SSC and equivalent examinations took place from February 3 to March 5 this year.

According to the Ministry of Education, 1,635,240 candidates from 28,884 schools sat in the SSC exams under nine education boards.

Besides, 261,254 students took the Dakhil exams, while 131,285 students took the Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB) exams.

Last year, the SSC results were published on May 6.
