Like the past three years, female students who sat for the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations have outnumbered the male students – in terms of pass rate.
According to the results published on Wednesday, 76.44% female students passed in the exams, compared to 71.67% male students.
Last year, the success rate among girls was 69.72%, 5.84% higher than the boys’ 63.88%. In 2017, the success rate for girls was 70.43%, while it was 68.61% for boys.
On an average, 73.93% of examinees passed examinations under 10 education boards of the country.

A total of 13,51,505 examinees from 9,081 educational institutions took part in the examinations across the country.
Among them, 703,000 were male students and 633,629 were female students.
