For the third year in a row, girls have done better than boys in this year's Junior School Certificate (JSC) and Junior Dakhil Certificate (JDC) examinations.
The pass rate for girls was 86.43% and 85.12% for boys, reports UNB.
The number of girls who earned GPA 5 was 39,905, while 28,190 boys earned GPA 5 this year.
This year, a total of 1,406,317 girls appeared in the examinations, against 1,192,852 boys. The number of female examinees was 213,465 higher than their male counterparts.
The results of the 2018 JSC and JDC examinations, with a pass rate of 85.83%,were published on Monday.
