Man found working at bank for 8 years using forged DU certificate

Dhaka University (DU) authorities have handed over a private bank employee to the Shahbagh police on Sunday for his alleged involvement in using a forged Dhaka University certificate. Chief Security Officer of the university Kamrul Ahsan Khan detained Kamol Krishna Pal, principal officer at Mercantile Bank’s head office in Dhaka, when the latter arrived on Sunday morning at the Office of Examination Controller to challenge a university ruling, which declared his certificate forged. Sources said the bank recently asked the university authorities to verify the authenticity of Kamol's certificate, which was apparently forged. DU exam controller Bahlul Hoque Chowdhury said: “He (Kamol) applied to the bank eight years ago using a fake Dhaka University certificate which looks identical to the original." “University authorities are trying to catch the forgery syndicate who are making these certificates.” Officer-in-charge of Shahbagh Police station, Abul Hasan confirming the handover, said: We will take take legal actions against him after looking into the allegations.”
