Professor Dr Shirin Akhtar of Bangla department was made the pro-vice chancellor (VC) of Chittagong University (CU) yesterday. With her appointment, the university gets its first female Pro VC in its history since its establishment in 1966.
The newly made Pro VC took her office yesterday afternoon.
“She has been appointed as Pro VC of CU by honorable chancellor President Abdul Hamid for the next four years under University Act 1973 14(1)”, stated the press release.
