This year male students have done excellent in Junior School Certificate (JSC) under Chittagong Education Board lagging behind the girl students.
A total of 170,716 students passed the public examination this year in the board. Pass rate of the examination is 85.48% while the pass rate was 84.29% in last year.
A total of 12,268 students secured GPA 5 and the number was 10,487 in last year.
However, the average GPA 5 rate dropped than the last year as the sum stood at 7.29 from 8.26%.
Acting Examination Control of Chittagong Education Board Mohammed Jamal Uddin formally announced the result at the education board office with the presence of Secretary Pijush Dutta and Collage Inspector Sumon Barua.
This year, 168,396 students had appeared at the JSC examination where 143,939 students secured minimum grade point, said Jamal Uddin. Of them, 65,240 are male and 78,699 are female.
A total 5,399 male students and 6,869 female students secured the GPA 5 in this year.
The pass rate of the metro area students is 91.64% and in rural area it is 85.26%, added Jamal Uddin.
