The Awami League-backed candidates have won all 15 seats during the Dhaka University Teachers’ Association (DUTA) elections held Thursday at 10:00am.
The 15-member executive committee was elected by 2,000 teachers at the Dhaka University (DU) Teachers’ Club.
A total of 39 candidates contested for 15 executive committee posts including that of President and General Secretary (GS) under three panels - Pro-Awami League (AL) teachers under “Blue Panel”, BNP-Jamaat-backed teachers under “White Panel” and progressive teachers under “Pink Panel”.
DU Chemistry Department Prof Tofail Ahmad Chowdury conducted the polls as Election Commissioner.
