Garment workers blocked roads at several points in Dhaka’s Mirpur area on Saturday to protest, disrupting traffic in the neighborhood.
The protests took place in Mirpur-10, Mirpur-11, Mirpur-12 and Proshika intersection.
The Traffic Mirpur Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) said the demonstrations were disrupting vehicle movement in the areas. Police personnel were working to restore normal traffic conditions.
The division urged drivers and passengers traveling through the affected areas to allow extra time for their journeys and exercise caution.
Officer-in-Charge of Mirpur Model police station Hafizur Rahman said efforts were underway to restore normalcy through discussions with the workers.
