Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Detective Branch (DB) has arrested Lieutenant (retd) Gulshan Ara and, on allegations of association with her, Lieutenant Colonel (retd) Debashish, in a case filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act and the Cyber Security Act.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police Additional Commissioner (Detective Branch) Md Shafiqul Islam confirmed the information to Dhaka Tribune at 12pm on Monday.
He said: “They are accused in a case filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act and the Cyber Security Act. They have been arrested in connection with this case. The matter is under investigation. They will be interrogated.”
He also said they were arrested in an operation conducted in the capital.
