Five people have been arrested in connection with an attack on a house in the Shyamoli Housing area of Adabor in the capital.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) of the DMP Media and Public Relations Division, Md Akter Hossain, confirmed the matter at around 11:15am on Monday.
The DMP said five people were arrested in connection with the attack on a house in the Shyamoli Housing area of Adabor. The DMP did not immediately disclose the names or identities of those arrested.
The attack on the house in Adabor took place on Saturday morning. A group of 15 to 20 people, armed with machetes, cleavers and a pistol, allegedly carried out the attack. It has been alleged that an attempt was being made to take control of the eight-storey house.
The owner of the house, Aminur Rahman Khan, is a businessman. His nephew, Monir Hossain, said the house had also been occupied once after August 5, 2024.
Following Saturday’s incident, the house owner, Aminur Rahman, filed a case with Adabor Police Station on Sunday night.
The case names Khurshid Alam Khan, Habibullah alias Russell, Kalam, Kamran Hossain, Mizanur Rahman, Sajib Hossain, Hasibul Hasan alias Emon, Tanvir and 15–20 others as accused. The remaining individuals have been listed as unidentified.
