Transport workers blocked a road in Mohakhali in the capital on Thursday afternoon, bringing traffic to a halt in the area.
The workers blocked the road in the Mohakhali Bus Terminal area after 4:30pm, disrupting traffic movement on both sides of the road.
The Traffic Gulshan Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) said buses had been parked on the road in the terminal area in the afternoon, affecting normal traffic movement.
Protesting the move, transport workers blocked the road and took up position there, it said.
As a result, traffic on both sides of the road came to a halt, causing congestion in the area.
Police personnel were at the scene and taking necessary measures to restore normal traffic movement, the DMP said.
The Traffic Gulshan Division of DMP requested city residents to avoid the road adjacent to Mohakhali Bus Terminal and use alternative routes.
